Chair's Report to CCC AGM Sunday 28 November 2010

held at 6 St George's Cres., Goode Beach A 6330

Life is full of fleeting thoughts, some with the potential to be built upon and become a river of inspiration , making their way to the delta and providing natural energy for many recipients to embrace and nurture their particular needs in life.

From humble beginnings 'Just A Thought' (JAT) was born from a fleeting thought by a parishioner when looking for something to fill an empty space in the Sunday Bulletin. The parish priest responded with interesting and thought provoking content for the next six years.

In such a short period of time the JAT's and Homilies have made the transition from Bulletin to Website - Cyber Christian Community (Inc) (CCC) and authentic and stimulating place for all Christians to participate. Fr Paschal Kearney's book 'Soul Search' proved to be a point of discovery for many readers of his penetrating vision for the Church today. First and second prints have long sold out, with all proceeds after costs, $9,110.00 being sent to aid Sr Mary Sweeney's School for the Deaf in Sierra Leone, the place Paschal worked as a missionary for the best part of 30 years.

Following 'Soul Search' the first two volumes of the 'Reflections' series covering Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter First Readings and Yr 2 Ordinary Time First Readings, present many reflective snippets from Paschal, penciled during his challenging and confronting experiences while spreading the Gospel in a war torn West Africa. A further set of 'Reflections' in two volumes 'Gospel Readings and Year 1 Ordinary Time First Readings' have been launched at the Holy Family Parish, Albany WA, with successive launches in Bunbury and Perth.

CCC now incorporate a program highlighting the intrinsic value of Small Christian Communities. CCC welcomes the opportunity to be a carrier of information attributed to the activities of the above for their members and wider readership.

We must assume CCC is still in an infancy period of growth, however, the genesis of its existence stems from deep rooted conviction that faith in Jesus Christ as Savior demands an unrelenting commitment to the Gospel Values and their interpretational and practiced value in a rapidly changing world, of which our Church is part.

For their special skills in initiating and managing the website I join the many contributors in forwarding our sincere thanks to Colin Lowe and Helen Oxenburgh-Lowe, their fidelity to its success is an inspiration.

To Fr Paschal Kearney for sharing in book form is vast experiences in the use of scriptural reflection.

Dr Jane Anderson for her editing expertise.

Helen Oxenburgh-Lowe and Marian Oxenburgh for the mammoth effort in typing the manuscripts from Paschal's journals.

Shirley Kelly for special attention to the financial responsibilities of CCC/
John and Ivana O'Dea for constant and reliable support to the team in so many practical ways.
Contributors and all those who subscribe to the formula of CCC.

To all the above I offer my prayerful thanks for your past, present and future participation.
To all potential contributors let us not dispense with fleeting thoughts they may out to be gems of great value to humanity, we might say -

I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do.
